Lionel Messi scored a 19th minute goal to lift Barcelona against Getafe C.F., extending their lead in the table against Real Madrid by 9 points by end-game, but that lead was cut back to 6 after Real Madrid defeated Recreativo Huelva, 1-0.
Barcelona played superb as usual with 8 shots on target but only Messi's attempt found the back of the net.
Barca meets Sevilla on Wednesday and Valencia on Saturday before facing Chelsea in the Champions League semifinals.
